Job Summary
This position is responsible for the organization and leadership of a variety of recreation activities including, but not limited to programs for children and adults with disabilities and inclusion support.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Basic knowledge of disabling conditions, adaptation techniques and behavior management.
Knowledge of principles, techniques, methods, supplies and equipment applicable to recreation and social programs for persons with disabilities.
Knowledge of good public relations practices and principles.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to lead group games and activities.
Ability to communicate effectively with children, adults, parents and other staff members.
Ability to maintain records and create reports.
Ability to supervise and develop subordinates and volunteers work.
Ability to present ideas and recommendations clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Ability to plan creative, appropriate activities for all ages.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, adults, parents and children.
Ability to run, walk, or navigate by using assistive devises.
Ability to lift heavy objects including sports equipment.
Working Conditions
Work is typically performed indoors and outdoors.
Minimum Qualifications
1) High school diploma or equivalent.
2) Six months of related experience, including some experience working with children and adults with disabling conditions of all ages.
3) Equivalent combination of education and experience;
4) Valid Georgia driver’s license or State Identity card;
First Aid and CPR certification preferred;
