Overview Kavaliro is seeking a System Administrator to support a client in Hawaii. The ideal candidate will maintain, support, and optimize IT infrastructure to ensure reliable and secure operations, with a strong background in systems administration and security best practices. Key Responsibilities Manage and maintain servers, networks, and associated hardware and software, with a focus on LAN/WAN support. Ensure system security and integrity by implementing and monitoring security protocols, including CAC authentication. Perform regular system updates, backups, and recovery procedures. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues in a timely manner. Monitor system performance and optimize resource utilization. Assist in the design and implementation of IT projects and solutions. Collaborate with team members and other departments to support operational needs. Document system configurations, processes, and procedures. Provide user support and training as needed. Stay current with industry trends and advancements in technology. Travel as required to support operations at various sites within the Indo-Pacific region. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum of 3 years of experience in systems administration. Security+ certification is required. TS/SCI clearance is required. Experience with Nutanix is a strong benefit. Proficient in Windows and Linux operating systems. Strong understanding of network protocols and services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.), with experience in LAN/WAN support. Familiarity with virtualization technologies and cloud services. Experience with CAC authentication and related security protocols. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a military or defense environment. Additional certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, VMware, CCNA) are a plus. Knowledge of automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash). Working Conditions Extensive travel will be required to support operations at various sites within the Indo-Pacific region. May require occasional after-hours or weekend work. Location Honolulu, HA This position is onsite and there is no remote availability. Clearance Requirements Candidates must have an active TS/SCI security clearance with a Full Scope Polygraph.
