We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Property Accountant to join our team in Bingham Farms, Michigan. In this role, you will be responsible for managing financial activities related to property accounting, including reconciliations, month-end processes, and general ledger oversight. This position offers an opportunity to work independently in a collaborative and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and manage monthly financial statements for assigned properties, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Oversee month-end close processes, including journal entries and general ledger maintenance.
• Utilize Yardi software to track and report financial data effectively.
• Collaborate with property management teams to provide financial insights and support.
• Maintain compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
• Conduct periodic audits to verify financial data and ensure proper documentation.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement to optimize accounting workflows.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities for property portfolios.
• Respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders regarding financial matters.• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in property accounting.
• Proficiency in month-end close procedures and account reconciliations.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting principles.
• Experience with Yardi software or similar property management systems.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills to interact with various stakeholders.
