Job Description

• Performs nursing cure responsibilities as specified in the policies. procedures and protocol for the hemodialysis Unit. Attends regularly scheduled interdisciplinary meetings of assigned primary patients. Understands and maintains the established standards procedures ,and policies of this Institution.
• Executes prescribed dialysis regimen for each individual patient. as assigned. Performs therapeutic measures, as delegated and prescribed by the physicians: has a thorough knowledge of medications and treatments being administered
• Maintains, prepares, & sanitize equipment necessary for the administration of' Hernodialysis.
• Accurately records observations, treatment, medication and other pertinent clinical information
• Evaluates the nursing care provided for patients: reviews and revises patient care plans. Documents long and short-term goals and discusses goals with the patient in collaboration and other disciplines.
• Keep Charge Nurse and Head Nurse informed of pertinent information continuously throughout tour of' duty.
• Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment for patients. Has an awareness of the safety hazards in the unit and take responsibility on the corrections, when possible, Reports and records incidents and accidents.
• Maintains clinical competency by attending and participating in continuing education programs.

Minimum Qualifications

• A valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State; and
• Holds, or obtains through facility orientation, a valid and current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA).
