Job Description

A school district in the Hampshire, IL area is seeking a qualified Sign Language Interpreter to support a high school program for the 2025-2026 school year. This contract position requires in-person work and offers 32.5 to 35 hours per week, aligned with the school schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide clear, accurate, and effective sign language interpretation for students and staff in a high school setting.
• Facilitate communication between hearing and deaf or hard-of-hearing individuals.
• Collaborate with educators to ensure accessibility and participation for deaf or hard-of-hearing students.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional standards as required by the school.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) Approval as a Sign Language Interpreter.
• EIPA score of 3.0 or higher for temporary approval eligibility.
• Proven experience in sign language interpreting within educational environments.
• Ability to work onsite in Hampshire, IL and nearby communities.
• Strong communication skills and cultural competency in deaf education.

• Hampshire High School and surrounding areas, Illinois.
