Job Description

What You Will Be Doing

HVMG is looking for a Project Manager who will be responsible for working with HVMG Senior Management in the planning and successful execution of HVMG new development and renovation projects. This role will work to ensure renovation & new development projects are completed on time and within budget, while achieving a quality level commiserate with the project goals and objectives.

Additional Responsibilities Include:

  • Work with the HVMG senior management team to assist with the preparation of initial project budgets and schedules as part of the companys due diligence process relating to evaluating prospective new projects and business opportunities and confirming the financial viability of the project/s.
  • Work with HVMGs brand management and operations team to fully understand and define the scope of work of prospective projects related to and required to meet the standards of the respective projects brands as it relates to the impact on project costs and schedules.
  • Lead the development of detailed development budgets and schedules to support the projects assigned based on the above predevelopment due diligence.
  • Manage the site due diligence of each prospective project, including obtaining and reviewing all soils and environmental reports, surveys, utility surveys, & other studies as necessary to determine and/or confirm the suitability of the site for the development proposed.
  • Management of the entitlement process, including obtaining all planning/ zoning and other necessary city and state approvals
  • Source, procure, and lead project architects and other consultants in the design of the project based on the scope of work determine in conjunction with HVMG senior management. This is to include assurance that the project design meets brand and owner requirements and approvals within the approved budget.
  • Source, qualify, engage and manage general contractors and other third-party consultants and vendors required to execute the companys projects including managing the preconstruction, construction, completion and turnover of the projects to Ownership and operations.

Specific Job Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

  • Possess a clear understanding of the project budgeting, due diligence, entitlement/ EIR processing, architectural and interior design management, and construction process and procurement and installation of related FF&E and OS&E.
  • Ability to properly manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills to demonstrate and convey a thorough understanding of the entire development process
  • Financial acumen to provide concise status and cost reports
  • Must possess a strong knowledge of Word, Excel, Microsoft Project and be able to develop accurate budget reports, spread sheets, correspondence, schedules and other reporting as required
  • Verbal and written communication skills, direction must be clearly and concisely delivered to audiences both inside and outside the company
  • Strong leadership and follow-up skills, with a hands on approach to completing all projects in a timely and efficient manner
  • Demonstrated experience with onsite project management experience and dealing with general and subcontractors and the construction process
  • Ability to travel often and extensively to job sites and hotels
  • Must live in the Atlanta, GA area

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree from a four-year college or university with a degree in architecture, engineering, construction management or related field / and or combination of education and experience.
  • 5-10 years of construction project management experience in hotel projects.
  • Preferable brand experience: such as Marriott, Hilton, IHG, and Hyatt

This position is a 1099 Contract.
