Process Engineer
Location: Nederland, TX
Description:
- Provide process engineering support for NGL fractionation plants, salt cavern storage, and terminal operations located in Mont Belvieu, TX
- Provide process engineering support for the Nederland NGL export terminal and Spindletop storage facilities located near Nederland, TX
- Work with plant Operations personnel and Engineering group members to analyze and improve existing processes to maximize productivity, reduce operating costs, improve profitability, and comply with regulations and engineering standards.
- Implement entire project life cycle for small to mid-size maintenance and capital growth projects including scope development, design, material procurement, construction, commissioning, and project completion.
- Foster and maintain effective working relationship with Operations, Project Managers, Outside Contractors, Environmental, and Safety personnel
- Work closely with Project Directors/Managers responsible for development and execution of large scale plant projects
- Work with Business Development/Commercial in the development of optimization, debottlenecking, and growth projects.
- Take part in PSM activities for area facilities. (maintain facility drawings, resolve PHA action items, etc.)
- Maintain facility process simulations and work with other process engineers to develop process solutions while following engineering standards, code compliance, company and safety standards, and good engineering practices.
- Proactively seek opportunities to broaden and deepen process engineering and project management knowledge base and proficiencies.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A BS degree in a relevant engineering discipline, preferably Chemical, Natural Gas, or Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a process engineer in oil/gas or related industry
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office Suites applications
- Proficiency utilizing Engineering Process Simulation Programs (ProMax, Hysys, etc.)
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with NGL/LPG facilities
- Experience developing and executing projects inside PSM facilities
- 5+ years of experience in midstream sector
Job level to be commensurate with experience:
- The Engineer level requires a bachelor’s degree and 3-6 years of relevant job-related experience
- The Sr. Engineer level requires a bachelor’s degree and 6-10 years of relevant job-related experience
- The Staff Engineer level requires a bachelor’s degree and 15+ years of relevant job-related experience
Working Conditions:
- The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
- Normal office working conditions and field work
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment will occur.
