Prior Authorization Specialist

This position is located in our Millville, NJ call center and requires an on-site presence.

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Prior Authorization Specialist to join our medical office team. This critical role will require on-site presence. As an integral part of our team, you will be pivotal in streamlining the authorization and referral process for various medical services. Your meticulous attention to detail will ensure that patient medical histories are thoroughly reviewed, physician-provided information is accurately verified, insurance coverage is confirmed, and all necessary authorizations are obtained before proceeding with requested services.

Responsibilities:

• Efficiently manage the authorization and referral process for a comprehensive range of medical services, including diagnostic testing, office visits, and various medical procedures.
• Conduct detailed reviews of patient medical histories and insurance coverage to ascertain eligibility for approvals.
• Communicate effectively with ordering providers to gather any additional information required for authorizations.
• Monitor and manage scheduling to proactively address and resolve potential conflicts or issues.
• Provide support with additional clerical tasks and administrative duties as needed to ensure smooth office operations.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 5 years of direct experience in Testing and/or Procedure Prior Authorization.
• In-depth understanding of medical terminology, ICD-10, and CPT codes.
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency with relevant software applications.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
• Familiarity with insurance payer prior authorization portals and processes.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong initiative and self-motivation.
  

Compensation:

• Up to $22/hr.

Job Type/Schedule:

This is a full-time position, with standard working hours from Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
