As Southeast Orthopedic Specialists continues to grow, we are actively hiring a Part-Time Medical Scribe ! The ideal candidate for this position will be a high-performing individual eager to pursue a career in healthcare, whether that is clinical ( nursing, PA, MD, etc) or non-clinic ( Health care Admin, medical device sales, marketing, etc) healthcare roles.

GENERAL SUMMARY

Assist providers with appropriate, timely, and accurate documentation in the EHR system. They accurately document the events and decision-making in a manner that results in appropriate medical charting. Also complete clerical activities necessary to assist with the processing of physician orders for tests and medications, as well as gathering necessary information such as labs, radiology reports, etc. Responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining EMR templates to facilitate accurate documentation and streamline workflow processes within our organization. This role involves templating by specialty and payor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Accurate, timely charting of patient encounters, including but not limited to patient history, physical exams, diagnostic findings, lab and test results, consultations with other providers, treatment course, diagnoses, discharge instructions, and prescriptions.
  • Professional, non-intrusive interaction with patients, physicians, and other co-workers.
  • Template Design and Customization: Develop and design EMR templates tailored to specific medical specialties and payor requirements.
  • Create Guideline Compilation: Compile and organize clinical and insurance guidelines and protocols into a comprehensive resource using Smartsheet project management tool.
  • Create Office Notes Templates: Develop office notes templates to facilitate accurate and efficient documentation of patient encounters and treatment.
  • Compliance with HOPCo policies, including those relating to confidentiality of patient information.
  • Assist with all aspects of patient care and coordination of care as deemed necessary
  • Other duties as assigned, including, but not limited to training other Scribes and staff.
  • The job holder must demonstrate current competencies for the job position.

EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Pre-health, Nursing, and Health Science college students preferred.
