Preferred Minimum Qualifications:

Master's Degree or Completion of a Certified Instructional Coaching Program

Completion of LETRS training or Reading Endorsement

Experience as an Instructional Coach or Lead Teacher

At least 5 years experience teaching, with a record of successfully impacting student achievement and working effectively with students who have the greatest needs.

Description:

As a Literacy Coach specializing in the Science of Reading, the candidate will play a crucial role in supporting and improving literacy instruction in the Greene County School System. This position is designed for an experienced educator dedicated to guiding teachers in implementing structured literacy, understanding the new Georgia ELA standards, and analyzing literacy data to make data-based decisions. The candidate should have a deep understanding of the structured literacy approach to teaching reading. They should have experience in explicit and systematic teaching of all essential literacy components, including foundational skills such as decoding and spelling, as well as higher-level literacy skills such as morphology and written expression. The Literacy Coach will collaborate closely with teachers, offer targeted professional development, and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of the literacy curriculum: Amplify Core Knowledge Language Arts and mClass Dibbels.
