Job Description

A full-time paraprofessional position is available working directly with a middle school student who is medically fragile and requires dedicated one-to-one support. This contract role provides a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in an educational setting, assisting the student with their academic and personal needs throughout the current school year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized assistance to a medically fragile middle school student in a classroom setting.
• Support the students educational goals by implementing instructional strategies under the guidance of certified educators.
• Assist with mobility, communication, and personal care as needed to ensure the student's safety and comfort.
• Collaborate with teachers, nurses, and other support staff to maintain a supportive learning environment.
• Monitor and document the students progress and report any concerns related to health or behavior promptly.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Experience working with students requiring one-on-one support, particularly those with medical fragility or special needs.
• Strong communication skills and patience to foster a positive and trusting relationship with the student.
• Ability to follow care plans and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
• Previous experience in a middle school or special education setting is preferred.
• Relevant paraprofessional certification or training would be an asset.

• Position is based in Cranston, Rhode Island, supporting a middle school student.
