Job Description

Community Crisis Services is dedicated to providing comprehensive support and safe haven for individuals and families affected by homelessness. Our mission is to empower survivors through compassionate care, advocacy, and education, ensuring their journey to recovery and independence.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Case Manager to join our team at our Homeless Shelter. The Case Manager will play a crucial role in providing direct services to shelter residents, including crisis intervention, advocacy, and case management. This position requires a strong commitment to supporting individuals in crisis and helping them navigate the path to safety and self-sufficiency.

The Case Manager provides a variety of individual and/or group supportive services that address both short-term and long-term client needs.

* A pre-employment criminal background check and drug screening are required. Candidates must be able to participate in and complete mandatory orientation and training during the first 6 weeks of employment.

Employment Status: Full-time, Non-exempt

Salary: $27.50 per hour

Available schedule
  • Monday - Friday, 9 am-5 pm or 10 am-6 pm

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify the needs and strengths of shelter residents
  • Develop and implement individualized service plans in collaboration with shelter residents
  • Provide crisis intervention, safety planning, and emotional support
  • Assist shelter residents in accessing community resources, including housing, legal services, healthcare, and employment
  • Advocate on behalf of residents with various agencies and service providers
  • Facilitate support groups and educational workshops
  • Maintain accurate and confidential case records and documentation
  • Participate in regular staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities
  • Collaborate with shelter staff and community partners to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned

Education and Experience Qualifications Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in a social science discipline (Psychology, Sociology or Social Work) or related field
  • A minimum two years of case management exerperience
  • A minimum of two years' experience working with at-risk clients in a direct service setting
  • A minimum of two years' experience working with clients who have a history of domestic violence, addiction, mental health issues and/or the displaced population (homeless)

  • Ability to prepare clear, concise and accurate case notes, reports, correspondence, and other job-related documents
  • Skill to work effectively under pressure

  • Ability to develop and evaluate alternatives
  • Ability to communicate effectively using a variety of styles and techniques appropriate to the audience
