As we prepare for our opening, we are seeking a passionate and experienced Gym Manager to lead our team and help us deliver an exceptional training experience across personal, group and high performance coaching.
The Gym Manager will be responsible for the overall management and success of WSA gym. They will work closely with the Director of Human Performance and lead on the physical gym space and the training side of the commercial gym/ High Performance Unit offering. The role includes ensuring the highest level of customer service, maintaining a pristine and safe environment, managing staff, and driving membership growth and retention. This position is a pre-opening position so experience in pre-opening phase is a must.
The ideal candidate is a leader who is enthusiastic about fitness, has a strong business acumen, and is committed to fostering a culture of excellence and high performance. Experience with pro-athlete training, high performance environments and five-star customer service is a plus.
Key Responsibilities: Operational Management: o Oversee the daily operations of the gym, ensuring all areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained
o Develop and oversee daily, weekly and monthly Standards of Operation (SOP) for gym operations
o Implement and uphold gym policies, procedures, and standards to provide a consistent and high-quality member experience
o Manage scheduling of group classes
o Manage facility maintenance and address any issues promptly to minimize disruptions

Customer Service: o Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service, creating a welcoming and supportive environment for all members
o Handle member inquiries, concerns, and feedback in a professional and timely manner
o Develop and implement member engagement programs to enhance satisfaction and retention
Team Leadership: o Recruit, train, and manage a team of fitness professionals, including personal trainers, group fitness instructors, and support staff.
o Collaborate with Director of High Performance to drive integration of HPU services and product offering through to gym members
o Foster a positive and motivating work culture, encouraging staff to perform at their best.
o Conduct regular team meetings and performance evaluations to ensure continuous improvement and development.
Sales and Marketing: o Develop and execute marketing strategies to attract new members and promote gym services
o Work closely with Membership Lead to execute against member acquisition, retention and reward
o Drive membership sales through community outreach, partnerships, and promotional events
o Monitor membership trends and implement retention strategies to maintain a strong and loyal member base
Financial Management: o Manage the gym's budget, including expenses, revenue, and payroll, to ensure financial health and sustainability
o Analyze financial reports and key performance indicators to make data-driven decisions
o Identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue growth
Requirements - HS Graduate or Equivalent
- Business degree preferred
- 5+ years experience in the fitness, retail, or hospitality industries
- 5+ years experience managing 20+ team members
- 3+ years experience managing Profit and Loss (P&L) statements/ budgets
- 3 + years management experience
- Experience providing high-end customer service and managing customer concerns
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Highly organized, detail oriented
- Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office suite)
- Schedule availability for nights and weekends
- CPR and AED certified, or ability to get certified
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, climb and lift up to 50 pounds

The base pay range for this position is a salary range of $90,000 - $100,000 per year. The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid within the range depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment history/job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills, etc.
