Position Description

The Director of Behavior Services at National Therapy Center is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of behavior programs and services. This position may have its responsibilities adjusted from time to time, but the core duties include:

  1. Skill and Behavioral Programming : Design and monitor individualized skill and behavioral programs for a small caseload of approximately 3-5 families, ensuring effective and personalized care.
  2. Interdisciplinary Collaboration : Work collaboratively with Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Physical Therapists to provide comprehensive care plans that address all aspects of the clients' needs.
  3. Behavior Support Plans : Oversee the development and implementation of positive behavior support plans for ABA staff, ensuring they are aligned with best practices and individualized for each client.
  4. Consultations : Perform case and school consultations as needed, providing expert advice and support to external partners and stakeholders.
  5. Staff Training and Support : Meet with and provide ongoing training and support to ABA staff, enhancing their skills and ensuring adherence to organizational standards.
  6. Supervision of RBTs : Supervise Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) on caseload and provide direct services when necessary, maintaining high-quality service delivery.
  7. Career Path Development : Lead the development and monitoring of career paths for Behavior Technicians (BTs), Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), and Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), including oversight of indirect hours for BCBAs.
  8. Contract Management : Supervise the management of contracts with various funding sources, ensuring compliance and effective use of resources.
  9. Assessments and Treatment Programs : Conduct assessments as needed, in coordination with the Executive Director, to develop comprehensive treatment programs tailored to client needs.
  10. Documentation : Write thorough evaluations and progress reports, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of client progress and treatment outcomes.
  11. Department Accountability : Report to the executive team on the performance and growth of the ABA department, taking responsibility for achieving departmental goals and continuous improvement.

Must-Have Qualifications :

  • Licensed BCBA : Must hold a current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification.
  • Experience : Over 10 years of experience in the field of ABA, with a demonstrated track record of successful program development and management.
  • Educational Background : A Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
  • Leadership and Management Skills : Demonstrated experience in leading and managing teams, particularly in a clinical setting.
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills : Ability to work effectively with a diverse team and communicate clearly with clients, families, and stakeholders.
  • Expertise in ABA : Comprehensive knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis, with a proven track record of designing and implementing successful behavior programs.
  • Problem-Solving Ability : Skilled in identifying challenges and developing innovative solutions to meet client and organizational needs.
  • Commitment to Professional Development : Dedication to continuous learning and development, both personally and for team members.
  • Ethical Standards : High level of professional integrity and adherence to ethical guidelines in practice.
