Job Description

Summary

Advise business on legal matters, including contracts, compliance with regulations, and intellectual property issues. Responsible for overseeing the company’s contracts, ensuring they are properly drafted, negotiated, and executed. Ensure that the company adheres to legal standards and internal policies, playing an integral part in risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and review contracts to ensure they meet legal and business requirements.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with outside legal counsel.
  • Monitor compliance with contract terms and conditions.
  • Maintain accurate records of all contracts and related documents.
  • Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures.
  • Oversee intellectual property matters including trademarks and copyrights.
  • Monitor compliance with laws and regulations; conduct audits, as necessary.
  • Report on compliance issues to senior management and the board of directors.
  • Maintain global entity requirements.
  • Manage external legal counsel when specialized expertise is required.
  • Maintain all ongoing litigation and legal issues.
  • Perform other related responsibilities as needed and as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree or relevant compliance certification.
  • 3–5 years of experience in contract management or corporate law.
  • 3–5 years of experience in compliance or regulatory affairs preferred.
  • Knowledge in IP and trademark compliance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • High ethical standards and professional integrity.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to travel up to 20–30% of the time to remote company locations and customer sites.
  • Capable of lifting up to 25–30 pounds at times.
