I. SUMMARY OF POSITION:

• Performs engineering tasks of moderate complexity while developing professional proficiency under the supervision of the Civil/Structural Engineering Manager

II. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Applies standard Civil and Structural engineering practices and techniques on assigned project tasks
• Makes internal recommendations on conceptual and or feasibility level solutions:

· Directs and participates in field investigations and document searches

· Performs preliminary calculations

· Compiles reports or produces sketches for internal review

• Assists in developing final solutions:

· Directs or participates in field investigations and work planning

· Performs routine to moderately complex Civil or Structural hand and software calculations on assigned project tasks

· Directs in the planning, design, and production of engineering drawings for internal review

· Supervises the production of drawings

• Participates on projects involving construction activities:

· Reviews shop drawings

· Responds to field questions

· Generates progress reports

· Observes complex construction procedures

• Proactive in mastering:

· Civil and Structural code documents

· Complex construction methods and techniques

· Civil and Structural design software

III. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Actively pursuing registration as a professional engineer by scheduling PE Exam

• BS in Civil Engineering
• 4-5 years cumulative experience as consulting engineer and or working in a petrochemical facility. A minimum of 3 years as consulting engineer.
• Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
• Competent use of Microsoft Office
• EI registration with State

IV. REPORTING REQUIREMENTS:

• Reports directly to the Civil/Structural Engineering Manager

V. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
