POSITION OVERVIEW:

IBCC is looking for a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to lead the organization's medical services and the exemplary care of our patients at our Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Imperial Beach.

In this critical role, the CMO provides the overall vision for standard-of-care methodologies, provider support, and oversight of the organization's clinical programs to meet patient needs while adhering to Federal Health Resource & Services Administration (HRSA) and various grant-funded care and administrative requirements.

As an active medical provider, the CMO supervises and delivers comprehensive primary and preventive health care services to patients from diverse and underserved populations and implements strategies to ensure all medical providers meet or exceed agency targets for patient visits per hour.

The CMO works closely with clinical staff and teams across departments to ensure medical services meet the highest standards and oversees quality improvement efforts to improve clinical performance and maintain compliance with all credentialing standards.

As the leading medical expert at Imperial Beach Community Clinic, this role proactively evaluates developments in medical care, makes recommendations for new practices and procedures, and advises the Executive Director and medical teams on matters impacting patient care.

The CMO position is a full-time, exempt role that supervises the Assistant Chief Medical Officer and oversees all medical providers. The CMO is an active member of the leadership team and reports to the Board of Directors and the Chief Executive Officer.

Expected time commitment: Administration 70% / Clinical 30% (Approximate and subject to adjustment).

Compensation range: Depending on experience $375,000 - $450,000

Schedule: Monday to Friday with occasional evening/weekend clinic coverage as needed.

Qualifications:

· Education: Doctorate (Required).

· Licensing & Certification:

o Licensed to practice in California.

o Valid DEA Certificate.

o Board Certified or Board Eligible in an applicable field.

· Experience:

o Minimum five years of outpatient practice experience

o Minimum three years of management experience, including training and leading strong teams

Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

· Demonstrated executive leadership experience in a clinical setting

· Proven work experience as a supervisor or director, with knowledge of community health centers, public assistance programs, and state/federal regulations

· Ability to interface with all levels of personnel in a professional manner, including diverse social, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds within government-funded programs

· Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor medical staff

· Comprehensive understanding of performance metrics and clinical quality improvement strategies

· Ability to develop and implement organizational goals through management of medical and support staff

· Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, organizational, and strategic planning skills

· Ability to manage confidential materials and information professionally

· Excellent customer service skills and a commitment to providing the highest level of patient satisfaction

· Ability and willingness to adhere to the organization’s attendance and dress code policies

· Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, with experience in eClinicalWorks preferred

· Experience/familiarity with business communication tools, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), and internet-based research

Preferred Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

· Experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or nonprofit healthcare setting

· Experience with eClinicalWorks Practice Management and Electronic Health Records systems

· Ability to develop clinical strategies, improve provider performance, and implement leadership development initiatives
