Job Description - A CDL Truck Driver is a construction worker whose first priority should be safe operation and practices on and off job sites.
- The truck driver is responsible to transport equipment and moving large amounts of rock, dirt, concrete, and other construction materials.
- When not driving, truck drivers are required to remain on the job site and assist other crew members with tasks.
- Perform duties in a safe manner by adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment by complying with standard operating procedures and practices.
- Perform all duties in accordance with DOT regulations and company safety policies.
Expectations - The CDL Driver is responsible to know, understand and oblige by all FMCSA rules and regulations.
- The CDL Truck Driver is expected to maintain their vehicles and provide general maintenance as needed on their vehicle, for safe operations on the Highway and construction job-sites. This maintenance may include, but is not limited to, the following:
- Accurate Daily Walk rounds each morning.
- Changing Light bulbs.
- Checking air pressures in truck and trailer(s).
- General greasing of the vehicle(s).
- Keep the interior and exterior of the vehicle(s) clean of trash, debris, and mud.
- Completing repair orders for any maintenance done to and/or parts purchased for the machinery.
- The CDL Truck Driver is required to grease and wash their own truck.
Required License Or Certification - Class A CDL, no restrictions.
- Must know how to operate 18-speed manual transmissions.
- Secure loading materials for safe transportation including tarping and some load rearranging.
- Deliver and dump materials on the level and secure ground.
- Communicate regularly with dispatcher to ensure timely product delivery at the job site.
- Observe and report equipment or mechanical failures immediately.
- Conduct daily inspections of the vehicle at the beginning and end of each shift and report any problems or damage to management.
- Comply with all DOT and in-house regulations and rules.
Requirements - Class A CDL License in good standing.
- Medical Card.
- No serious tickets or accidents in the last 5 years.
- Must be able to lift and maneuver up to 75 lbs.
