Job Description

Position Overview

The Catering and Events Business Development Manager is responsible for development and solicitation for catering/events for Moxy + AC Hotel Downtown Los Angeles and Level 8’s venues. The successful candidate will have sales experience, with a strong focus on soliciting, building, and maintaining client relationships to maximizing revenues.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with companies, individuals, and local organizations to maximize revenue goals in food, beverage, and meeting room rental including upselling additional amenities or branding opportunities.
  • Actively solicit and book business following standards and guidelines.
  • Keep abreast of current market trends and research competitors.
  • Proactively generate leads for all venues through active participation in community and professional association activities and events, blitzes, inside and outside sales calls/solicitations, site inspections and written communication to generate meeting room and catering revenue.
  • Achieve sales goals, proactively working to exceed targets through innovative and creative sales strategies.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of food and beverage offerings, ensuring clients receive the best recommendations for their events.
  • Produce proposals, contracts, BEO and resume as needed.
  • Communicate with all sales and operations teams, customer’s needs, and activities to ensure customer’s expectations are met.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

  • Team-oriented, collaborative, and willing to support colleagues across different departments to ensure success.
  • Familiarity with the DTLA business landscape and a strong network of local contacts is a plus and highly recommended, especially within production and entertainment industry segment.

Qualifications

  • 5 plus years of sales experience, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked as a Catering Sales Manager or in a similar role.
  • Proven success in driving sales and exceeding revenue targets, especially within diverse markets.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Must live in Los Angeles and have knowledge of the DTLA business scene.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Ability to stand, walk, lift, and bend for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule if needed.

Salary - $85 - $115k, plus bonus/commission, offered salary commensurate with experience
