We're Hiring: Accounting Manager Join a fast-growing, tech focused Financial Operations team! The Accounting team at Talos has been experiencing growth in the past year, and this is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on experience to help grow accounting functions in the dynamic & expanding sector of digital assets financial services.
The Accounting Manager will support the various accounting and finance functions of Talos's daily operations and strategic agenda as we continue growing globally. Financial Operations covers the full-scope finance function from Treasury to Accounting to FP&A and more. We regularly partner with several internal teams as a resource on financial reporting, application of accounting standards, forecasting, internal controls, and best practice.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, enthusiastic, proactive and collaborative. To them accounting and finance are not bookkeepers, but strategic partners to the business. Successful candidates prioritize their various responsibilities to help Talos be successful at each stage of growth. They have a strong desire to learn whether traditionally or through their experience tackling something new.
Responsibilities and Duties - Prepare, review and analyze financial statements in compliance with US GAAP and local statutory reporting requirements to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes including prepare and review monthly close ledger entries and reconciliations
- Manage Accounts Payable function including overseeing the outsource provider
- Research technical accounting matters such as revenue recognition (ASC 606), software development cost (ASC 350), share-based compensation (ASC 718) recording and implementing new accounting guidance
- Collaborate with FP&A on financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
- Work with external advisors on technical matters including tax returns and indirect tax compliance
- Manage state, federal tax filings and corporate reporting (in coordination with external tax firms)
- Coordinate activities of independent auditors including overseeing audits in the international jurisdictions
- Propose efficiency improvements in accounting processes, accounting systems and internal controls over financial reporting
- Production of periodic and ad hoc reporting
- Assist with treasury functions, including cash flow forecasting
Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- CPA required
- 4-6 years of relevant progressive accounting experience; public accounting and/or PCAOB experience preferred
- Experience in a software/SaaS or financial services industries preferred
- Hands-on approach with attention to detail
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Experience with IFRS preferred
- Experience with COSO 2013 and SOX preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities & deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite with explicit proficiency in Excel
- Proficiency with accounting and finance ERPs preferred (Sage Intacct)

In New York City, the annual base compensation range is $130,500 - $170,000. This position is eligible for discretionary bonus.
